Three B vitamin products from our shelf: NatureBell Methylated B Complex capsules, Bronson Vitamin B-Complex with Vitamin C capsules, Thorne Vitamin B12 Methylcobalamin capsules

A vitamin B complex panel stacks up to eight B vitamins in one percentage column, five weighed in milligrams and three in micrograms; across these seven labels the B rows run from 100% to 41,667%. Read cold, a five-digit Daily Value looks like a warning or a boast; on the panel it is a ratio, the printed amount set against a reference amount and written as a percent. This guide lines up six B-complex panels plus one single-ingredient B12 panel, puts each printed amount beside its printed %DV, sorts the four units that share a panel (mg, mcg, mg NE, mcg DFE), and quotes one panel that prints “4,1667%”. Label math only; nothing here says what any B vitamin does.

Serving size first: one capsule or two

The seven serving lines split into two groups. Four print one piece: Nature Made “1 Caplet”, Bronson “1 Capsule”, Divine Bounty “1 Capsule”, Thorne “One Capsule”. Three print two: NatureBell “2 Vegetarian Capsules”, Integrative Therapeutics “2 Capsules”, Deal Supplement “2 Veg Capsules”. Every figure on a panel belongs to that serving, not to one piece. The table sets the serving line beside the vitamin B12 row, which this guide follows across all seven labels.

Label Serving size and printed vitamin B12 line
Nature Made B-Complex with Vitamin C Caplets 1 Caplet: no vitamin B12 row printed
Bronson Vitamin B-Complex with Vitamin C 1 Capsule: 15 mcg, 625%
Divine Bounty Super B Complex 1 Capsule: 100mcg, 4167%
NatureBell Methylated Vitamin B Complex 2 Vegetarian Capsules: 1,000 mcg, 41,667%
Integrative Therapeutics Active B-Complex 2 Capsules: 1,000 mcg, 41,667%
Deal Supplement Bioactive Vitamin B Complex 2 Veg Capsules: 1,000 mcg, 4,1667%
Thorne Vitamin B12 Methylcobalamin One Capsule: 1 mg, 41,667%

Dividing the two-capsule servings by two puts all seven labels on a per-piece footing. NatureBell, Integrative Therapeutics and Deal Supplement each print 1,000 mcg of B12 per 2 capsules, which is 500 mcg per capsule (1,000 ÷ 2 = 500). Divine Bounty prints 100mcg per capsule, Bronson 15 mcg. Thorne’s single capsule carries 1 mg, and 1 mg = 1,000 mcg. In B12, one Thorne capsule equals two capsules of any two-capsule complex (2 × 500 mcg = 1,000 mcg), ten Divine Bounty capsules (1,000 ÷ 100 = 10) or about 67 Bronson capsules (1,000 ÷ 15 ≈ 66.7).

Five labels print directions: Nature Made “take 1 caplet daily”, Bronson “take 1 capsule daily”, Divine Bounty “take one (1) capsule daily”, Deal Supplement “take two (2) capsules daily”. Integrative Therapeutics prints a 2-capsule serving and “Adults take 1 or 2 capsules daily, preferably with food”; at one capsule every panel figure is halved (thiamin 50 ÷ 2 = 25 mg) and the 60-capsule bottle runs 60 days at one capsule daily (60 ÷ 1 = 60) instead of the panel’s 30 servings (60 ÷ 2 = 30). The photographed NatureBell and Thorne labels print no directions. Nature Made’s front reads “100 CAPLETS” and Thorne’s “60 CAPSULES”, but neither panel prints a servings-per-container line.

Why a B complex %DV column reads 4,167% or 41,667%

A %DV figure is the printed amount expressed as a percentage of one fixed daily reference amount for that nutrient. None of the seven panels prints the reference amounts, and this guide does not supply them; the printed pairs show the arithmetic on their own. The B12 rows, amount beside percentage:

  • Bronson: 15 mcg, 625%
  • Divine Bounty: 100mcg, 4167%
  • NatureBell and Integrative Therapeutics: 1,000 mcg, 41,667%
  • Thorne: 1 mg, 41,667%

The percentages climb at the same rate as the micrograms. From 100 mcg to 1,000 mcg the amount is multiplied by ten (1,000 ÷ 100 = 10) and the percentage with it (41,667 ÷ 4,167 ≈ 10). From 15 mcg to 100 mcg the amount grows about 6.7 times (100 ÷ 15 ≈ 6.67) and the percentage by the same factor (4,167 ÷ 625 ≈ 6.67). Thorne’s 1 mg lands on the same 41,667% as the two 1,000 mcg rows that print it, the two sides of 1 mg = 1,000 mcg printed on different labels. No panel stars the five-digit figure or prints a word beside it. The thiamin row repeats the pattern in milligrams: Nature Made 15 mg at 1250%; Bronson, Integrative Therapeutics and Deal Supplement 50 mg at 4167% or 4,167%; NatureBell and Divine Bounty 100 mg at 8,333% and 8333%. Doubling the milligrams (100 ÷ 50 = 2) doubles the percentage (8,333 ÷ 4,167 ≈ 2). The biotin labels guide walks that column for biotin.

The percentage does not track weight from one vitamin to the next. Divine Bounty prints “100mg” of thiamin at 8333% and “100mcg” of vitamin B12 at 4167%: one-thousandth of the amount (100 mg = 100,000 mcg) at about half the percentage (8,333 ÷ 4,167 ≈ 2).

Three panels (Nature Made, Bronson, Divine Bounty) print four-digit percentages without a thousands separator, as in “1250%” and “4167%”; the other three complexes print them with one, as in “4,167%” and “8,333%”, and Thorne’s single row prints no four-digit figure, only 41,667%. The outlier is Deal Supplement’s B12 row, which prints 1,000 mcg next to “4,1667%”, the comma after the first digit instead of the second. The digits 4-1-6-6-7 match the “41,667%” that NatureBell and Integrative Therapeutics print beside 1,000 mcg and Thorne beside 1 mg; the comma sits that way on the printed panel, and we quote it as printed.

mg, mcg, mg NE and mcg DFE: four units on one panel

Five of the eight B vitamins are printed in milligrams on every panel that lists all eight: thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B6 and pantothenic acid. Three are printed in micrograms: folate, vitamin B12 and biotin. Five complexes print all eight rows, Bronson (front: “CONTAINS ALL B VITAMINS”), NatureBell, Integrative Therapeutics, Deal Supplement and Divine Bounty; Nature Made prints five B rows, all in milligrams, and no folate, B12 or biotin row.

Niacin and folate carry a suffix after the unit on some panels: NE, short for niacin equivalents, and DFE, dietary folate equivalents. On the two pairs printed here, the suffix leaves the percentage unchanged. Nature Made prints niacin as “50 mg” at 313%; NatureBell prints “50 mg NE***” at 313%. Integrative Therapeutics prints “100 mg” at 625%; Deal Supplement “100 mg NE***” at 625%. The three-star marker has no legend printed on the photographed NatureBell and Deal Supplement panels.

Folate is the row where the printed strings differ most.

Label Serving size and printed folate line
Bronson 1 cap: 666 mcg DFE, 167%
Divine Bounty 1 cap: 680mcg DFE, 170%
Integrative Therapeutics 2 caps: 800 mcg DFE, 837 mcg salt, 200%
NatureBell 2 caps: 1,000 mcg DFE**, 250%
Deal Supplement 2 caps: 680 mcg DFE**, 170%
Nature Made 1 caplet: no folate row printed
Thorne 1 cap: no folate row (B12 only)

Bronson prints “400 mcg Folic Acid” and Divine Bounty “400mcg folic acid” inside the row name, and their DFE figures differ, 666 mcg DFE at 167% and 680mcg DFE at 170%; the ratios of the printed figures are 666 ÷ 400 ≈ 1.67 and 680 ÷ 400 = 1.70. Integrative Therapeutics prints 800 mcg DFE with a sub-line beneath, “(837 mcg Quatrefolic® brand (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate glucosamine salt)”, a weight larger than the DFE figure above it. NatureBell and Deal Supplement print the DFE figure only; their two-star marker has no printed legend. Deal Supplement’s 680 mcg DFE from L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate and Divine Bounty’s 680mcg DFE from folic acid print the same 170%: the same DFE figure and the same percentage, with a different form named in each row.

Methylcobalamin vs cyanocobalamin, and what “methylated” covers

Five of the six complexes print a vitamin B12 row with the form in parentheses. Three print methylcobalamin: NatureBell “Vitamin B12 (as Methylcobalamin) (Activated B12)”, Integrative Therapeutics “Vitamin B12 (as methylcobalamin)”, Deal Supplement “Vitamin B12 (as Methylcobalamin)”. Two print cyanocobalamin: Bronson “Vitamin B12 (as Cyanocobalamin)” and Divine Bounty “Vitamin B12 (as cyanocobalamin)”. Thorne’s front reads “as Methylcobalamin”. On these labels the B12 methylcobalamin rows carry the larger figures, 1,000 mcg per two capsules or 1 mg per capsule, and the cyanocobalamin rows 15 mcg and 100mcg per capsule.

Three fronts use a form word for the whole bottle: NatureBell “methylated” above “B complex”, Deal Supplement “bioactive” and “methylated”, Integrative Therapeutics “ACTIVE B-COMPLEX” and “WITH QUATREFOLIC® BRAND METHYLFOLATE”. On each of the three panels the letters m-e-t-h-y-l appear in two rows, folate (L-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate, or the Quatrefolic sub-line) and B12 (methylcobalamin), and a phosphate form in two more, riboflavin-5'-phosphate and pyridoxal-5'-phosphate (Integrative Therapeutics prints a second B6 form beside it, pyridoxine HCl). The other four rows print forms with no methyl or phosphate in the name: thiamin HCl or thiamine mononitrate, niacinamide, d-biotin or plain “Biotin”, a calcium pantothenate. NatureBell alone prints “Activated” in four of its twelve row names: “(Activated B2)”, “(Activated B6)”, “(Activated B9 Folate)”, “(Activated B12)”.

B complex with vitamin C, and the rows beyond the eight

Four of the six complex fronts print vitamin C. Nature Made, front “with C”: “Vitamin C (as Ascorbic Acid)” 300 mg, 333%. Bronson, front “WITH VITAMIN C”: 150 mg, 167%. NatureBell, front “with natural” / “vitamin C”: “Vitamin C (as Acerola Fruit (Malpighia glabra))” 45 mg, 50%, with a vitamin E row at 18 mg, 120%. Deal Supplement, front “esterified” / “vitamin c”: “Vitamin C (as Ascorbyl Palmitate)” 75 mg, 83%. Integrative Therapeutics and Divine Bounty print no vitamin C row.

Choline and inositol appear on four panels, among them Divine Bounty, whose front reads “WITH BIOTIN, CHOLINE & INOSITOL”. Choline prints a percentage; inositol prints a symbol with a legend such as NatureBell’s “† Daily Value not established.”, and Deal Supplement’s legend breaks off after “* Daily Value not”. Thorne’s footnote reads only “Daily Value (DV)”; its front prints no amount, and the “1 mg” sits on the panel alone under “One Capsule Contains:”. Six berberine panels do the same on every blend and extract line, a dagger or asterisks in place of a percentage; our six-label berberine read inventories those marks label by label.

Three labels print a caution or warning line; Nature Made’s names anticonvulsants, Bronson’s and Integrative Therapeutics’ are addressed to anyone who is pregnant, nursing or taking medications. The photographed NatureBell, Deal Supplement, Divine Bounty and Thorne labels print no warning or caution text.

Quick answers

Is 41,667% on a B12 label a warning? No panel prints a warning or a symbol beside the figure. The figure is 1,000 mcg (or Thorne’s 1 mg) set against a reference amount the panels do not print, written as a percent. Divine Bounty prints 4167% beside 100mcg: one-tenth of the amount, one-tenth of the percentage.

Is B12 1000 mcg on a two-capsule label the same as Thorne’s 1 mg? Per serving, yes: 1 mg = 1,000 mcg. NatureBell, Integrative Therapeutics and Thorne print 41,667%; Deal Supplement prints the same digits as “4,1667%”. Per capsule, no: 500 mcg in each capsule of the two-capsule labels (1,000 ÷ 2 = 500) against 1 mg in one Thorne capsule.

What does “methylated B complex” cover on the panel? On the three labels that print “methylated” or “ACTIVE” on the front, two rows name a methyl form (folate and B12) and two name a phosphate form (riboflavin and B6). Thiamin, niacin, biotin and pantothenic acid print no methyl or phosphate form.

The bottles are on the B Vitamins & Biotin collection; for vitamins A, D and E see the IU to mcg and mg conversion chart, and for the panel layout itself start with how to read a Supplement Facts label.
